Daniel and I have been partners since day one.

We met in August of 2007 in the board room of the Titan Student Union at Cal State Fullerton.  We were the Board of Directors representatives to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.  After a fierce election in the spring semester before, I didn’t have a positive opinion of the standing administration in student government.  Since Daniel had been appointed to the board, rather than elected, I assumed he was awful.

This is the first picture we ever took together. Taken at CSUF's Concert Under The Stars 9/14/2007

We actually worked together really well during our semester as co-directors.  There were a few tag-team moments during meetings that we still laugh about today.  Daniel lost his election and I had a new partner in the spring.  However, we stayed good friends.  He came to kickball (I played every Saturday) a couple of times and was given the nickname “Pending.”  After talking to my Maid of Honor,  I’m pretty sure my nickname was “weanie” because that’s what she calls me all the time.

This was a team photo from kickball taken in January of 2008. I picked this one because Cat's (my MOH) is also in the picture.

After a socially awkward end to the spring semester, we started dating on May 31, 2008.

A couple more things about us:

We like to graduate.

Daniel and I both graduated from Cal State Fullerton in May 2009.  I earned my B.A. in English and Daniel earned his B.A. in Political Science.  We left for graduate school in the east coast that summer.

I graduated with my M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania in May of 2010 and Daniel got his M.P.P. (public policy) in May 2011.  I’m now pursuing a graduate certificate in nonprofit management at George Mason University.  Why?  Because we’re nerds.

We like to travel

I characterize our time on the East Coast as one big vacation (that involves working full-time).  We travelled a lot while we lived in California but since moving to the East Coast we’ve been able to move around a lot more.

With cheap(er) transportation we can move around the mid-atlantic region for a weekend.    I’m a fan of the occassional day trips to New York.

Because of my time in graduate school, I can call Philadelphia my old stomping grounds.
